Korea Republik feiert ersten Sieg

Korea Republik hat sich am zweiten Spieltag der Gruppe F der FIFA U-20-Weltmeisterschaft Polen 2019 in einem ausgeglichenen Spiel gegen Südafrika knapp mit 1:0 durchgesetzt und hat mit nun drei Punkten wieder alle Chancen aufs Achtelfinale.
Die Südafrikaner zeigten sich im Vergleich zur Niederlage gegen Argentinien enorm verbessert und waren im ersten Durchgang die klar bessere Mannschaft. Zahlreiche gute Gelegenheiten wurden knapp vergeben oder Torhüter Lee Gwangyeon wehrte ab.
Nach der Pause veränderte sich das Spiel und die Südkoreaner übernahmen das Ruder. Vor allem Um Wonsang kam immer wieder gefährlich über den rechten Flügel in den Strafraum. Nach gut einer Stunde traf Jeong Hojin nur die Querlatte, kurz darauf traf Kim Hyunwoo per Kopf. Südafrika fand kaum noch in der Offensive statt und schaffte es nicht mehr, die asiatische Defensive in Bedrängnis zu bringen.
