Spanien sicherte sich den Titelgewinn bei der FIFA U-17-Frauen-Weltmeisterschaft Uruguay 2018, ist damit das fünfte Land, das den Weltmeistertitel in dieser Altersklasse errang, und konnte die Finalniederlage bei der Auflage von 2014 in Costa Rica wettmachen. Die Rojita setzte sich an die Spitze einer bislang einmaligen Dreierkonstellation, die für viele überraschend von Mexiko und Neuseeland komplettiert wurde.
