Roger Lemerre, the French coach of the Tunisian team said 17 June 2005 the ongoing Confederations Cup in Germany had brought back memories of the tragic death of his friend, Cameroon international midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe, at the competition two years ago. Foe collapsed on the pitch during Cameroon's 1-0 semi-final win over Colombia and doctors were unable to revive the 28-year-old, whose death was announced shortly after the final whistle.
